For some time now, the Vice President, on behalf of the association, has forwarded e-mails concerning crime to the Policia Local in Torrevieja. These emails contained relevant, current information and, in many cases, further advice to the public on the types of crime for which they could become a victim.
The Director- General of the Policia Local has now set up a scheme in which these e-mails will be received by certain delegated officers, translated into Spanish where necessary and re-circulated to:
- ALL of the staff of the Policia Local in Torrevieja.
- The small & medium businesses association in Torrevieja, APYMECO (for onward circulation to their members).
- The hostelry association of Torrevieja (for onward circulation to their members -bars & restaurants).
- As considered necessary, to the Guardia Civil for the Vega Baja region as well as Policia Local in surrounding municipalities.
All such information will also be recorded by the officer responsible for its receipt and circulation with copies being sent, in every case, to the Chief of Police of Torrevieja and all those of the rank of 'inspector'.
This initiative is, in itself, a recognition of the work done by our association, a demonstration of its value to the security services and to the public and further cements the close liaison which has been established between the association and the Policia Local in Torrevieja. The police are not only interested in matters relating to 'Torrevieja' but would be pleased to receive info from surrounding areas such as Rojales, Orihuela Costa, Guardamar del Segura, Los Montesinos etc. in all cases where the type of crime committed and therefore, the crime prevention advice, could become of value to the police and public in ALL areas. Please see your Lead Coordinator for further details of the scheme.
