A report of someone putting down poisoned food in the public park opposite Popeye's Bar (MariBlancas) has resulted in the death of dog. This is a particularly callous action and warn others to be alert while exercising their dogs in this area. No matter what anyone thinks of dogs using this park, poisoning is both cruel and unnecessary. Torrevieja has laws pertaining to dog behaviour and if anyone has a problem with dogs the Policia Local or Ayuntamiento can advise on the best action.
