The Neighbourhood Watch in Spain is now receiving an increasing number of reports of house and personal robberies. The safety and security of our possessions is first and foremost down to our own vigilance. It is with this in mind that I would remind people both tourists and locals of the following simple tasks that will make your possessions more secure.

  1. If you do not need it – do not take it.

  2. If using a hire care remove the hire sticker from the rear window.

  3. Lock all gates and doors.

  4. Make sure all windows are closed and shutters down.

  5. In the house do not leave any valuables where they can be seen.

  6. Don’t leave cash or valuables unattended when swimming or leave your bags, cameras or jackets lying around on chairs in café or bars (always keep an eye on your belongings in public places).

Be safe - follow these simple rules.

When picking up your hire car from the airport etc to ensure you are not advertising that you are a holidaymaker ( who are prime targets for thieves ) carefully remove any rear window stickers.

Latest press release was the handing over of the headland bench to theTorrevieja Town Hall.  The bench was supplied via the La Roseleda / Los  Frutales branch funds and will give everyone using it a wonderful view the Torrevieja coast.

The councillors present were Eduardo Gil, Eduardo Dolon and Pedro Valero and they were pleased that they had helped in getting the bench set in such a wonderful headland position.
